PLEASE NOTE
Cosmetic tattoos take approximately 6 weeks to fully heal. All procedures require two sessions: an initial session to establish shape, and a perfecting session 6-8 weeks later. During your follow-up, we can asses your pigment retention and make any adjustments needed. This follow-up also increases the longevity of your semi-permanent tattoo. The touch-up is included in the price of your initial procedure; it must be scheduled for and completed within 6-8 weeks post procedure unless alternative arrangements are made and agreed upon at the time of your initial appointment. If a touch-up appointment is not booked in this time frame or if you are a no-show, you forfeit your free touch-up and must pay for any touch-ups associated with your initial procedure. It is your responsibility to book your follow-up in advance.
POST PROCEDURE
After the topical anesthetic wears off, you may feel some tenderness on and around the tattooed area. You may also experience slight swelling and redness the day of your procedure; this is normal and typically fades within 24-48 hours. At this point you may take Tylenol if you feel any pain, but avoid Aspirin or Ibuprofen as it can cause blood thinning.
If you experience heavy itching, swelling, blistering, or any other complications within the first 24 hours post-procedure, gently wash your tattoo with a mild cleanser and contact your healthcare provider. If symptoms continue, or you experience abnormal swelling/redness or shortness of breath/trouble breathing, go to the closest Hospital ER immediately as you may be having an allergic reaction to the pigment and/or the Aquaphor applied at the conclusion of your appointment.
The tattooed area will appear darker and bolder immediately after the procedure (with the exception of scalp micropigmentation), but will soften and fade as your skin heals in the coming days and weeks. This is 100% normal.
Within a few days you might notice some flaking on the tattooed area—DO NOT pick at these; doing so can result in loss of pigment in those areas. Tattoos may appear spotty or patchy until the entire area has finished exfoliating. You may notice that some areas appear very light or to have lost pigment entirely after skin shedding; the epidermis will be thicker at this time, causing muting, hiding or diffusing of pigment underneath. The epidermis will normalize over the next 4-6 weeks and softened pigment will resurface and "bloom" back into the surface of the skin.
AFTERCARE
The morning following your procedure, gently wash your tattoo with lukewarm water and a mild, unscented cleanser (I recommend Cetaphil). Pat excess moisture off with a clean paper towel and let air dry.
Continue this 2x/day for the following 7 days.
APPLY AQUAPHOR FOR THE NEXT 7 DAYS.
Using a clean cotton swab, apply just enough ointment to moisturize the area after each cleansing.
Reapply throughout the day as needed to keep the area well hydrated.
DO NOT TOUCH PROCEDURE AREA(S) WITH YOUR FINGERS.
Your fingers have bacteria on them and can create irritation or infection.
DO NOT PICK AT, SCRATCH, OR RUB PROCEDURE AREA(S).
Disturbing your tattoo can lead to pigment loss.
NO MAKEUP [OR MAKEUP REMOVER] ON THE AREA[S] FOR 10 DAYS.
KEEP YOUR TATTOO DRY & OUT OF THE SUN.
AVOID SWIMMING, STEAM ROOMS AND SAUNAS, AND AGGRESSIVE SUN EXPOSURE.
ICE ON & OFF FOR THE FIRST 24 HOURS TO PREVENT SWELLING/BRUISING.
Additional care for lash line:
NO LASH TINTING, PERMING, OR EXTENSIONS FOR TWO WEEKS.
